Information we use
We use your name, email and profile contact details to manage your account; mailbox and shipping details to identify shipments; tracking, weight and status records to manage packages; invoices for processing and valuation; TRNs and identification documents to help establish customer identity; and bills, payment amounts and transaction references to maintain account records. Support correspondence and technical service records help us resolve problems and protect the service.
Why we use it
We use this information to provide the shipping services you request, administer accounts, communicate service updates, address complaints and meet applicable legal obligations. Providing identification is part of our customer identification process; it is not permission to use your documents for unrelated purposes. Missing information needed to process a shipment can delay the service.
Who receives information
Authorized staff access information needed for their duties. Warehouse and transport partners receive information needed to register customers, identify packages and handle shipments. Customer registration shares the customer’s name, email and mailbox number with the warehouse. Information may also be provided to customs or other authorities when required or otherwise lawfully permitted.
Service providers and international processing
Cloudflare hosts the website and server functions, Supabase provides authentication, database and file storage, and MailerSend delivers account and shipment emails. These providers process information to provide their services. Our US warehouse operations and technology providers involve processing that may take place outside Jamaica. Contact us for information about the arrangements applying to your data.
Documents and security
Uploaded identity documents are stored privately with access controls for the customer and authorized staff. Document access links may be temporary; do not share them publicly. Protect your password and use account uploads rather than email to submit identification. No system can guarantee absolute security.
Browser storage and external services
The website uses browser storage to maintain account sessions. Account confirmation, password reset, shipping-address, package and billing messages support your use of the service. Website fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which requires your browser to contact Google’s servers. Links to external websites lead to services with their own privacy practices.
Keeping your records
Records are held in our account, shipping, document and billing systems. Retention depends on the service purpose, applicable recordkeeping obligations and unresolved transactions or disputes. Contact us to ask about records held for you or to request deletion; a deletion request may be subject to legal exceptions. Account closure does not necessarily mean all records can be removed immediately.
Your rights and complaints
Email yardshippers@gmail.com to request access to your personal information, correct inaccurate information, object to processing or make another applicable data-protection request. Requests for deletion, restriction or transfer are considered under applicable law and its conditions and exceptions. We may need proportionate identity verification to protect your information. You may complain to Jamaica’s Office of the Information Commissioner about improper handling of your information.
